After months of thinking through how I would smooth out the inside of the boat as I build up the layers… I am using super basic tools. So far, so good.
Starting from the left… a home-made radius sander (this one is exactly the radius of the inside of the boat where the captain’s window starts) made from a 2×4 cutoff, a 2 inch curved sure-form, an 8-inch(?) straight sure-form, and two files.
This is got me the results I needed on the frame before I started the first layer of stripping.
